DESCRIPTION
Stables Cottage is a delightful detached Cotswold stone cottage set in a quiet location in the sought after no through road, Hale Lane. The current owner has renovated the cottage throughout and its tasteful decor and style are in keeping with the period character and charm of the cottage. The ground floor accommodation is spacious and light with an impressive fully fitted open plan kitchen/dining room, characterful sitting room with log burner, cloakroom, utility/boot room, study area leading through to the home office. Upstairs is the master bedroom with lovely views and an en-suite WC, further double bedroom, again with views and a smaller single bedroom. Outside, there is a lovely private garden with a delightful apple tree, patio, seating areas and parking.
DIRECTIONS
The property is located by leaving our Painswick office towards the centre of the village, along Victoria Street. Turn first right into St Mary's Street and then branch left into Hale Lane (a no through road) where Stables Cottage can be found towards the bottom on the right hand side.
LOCATION
The 'Queen of the Cotswolds', Painswick arguably has more fine period buildings within a defined area, than anywhere else in the Cotswolds. A friendly and welcoming community, almost all the facilities of the village are within walking distance of Stables Cottage and there are numerous sport and social clubs as well as a challenging 18 hole golf course and beautiful gardens to visit. Jealously guarding its reputation as a village community, Painswick, has the feel of a small country town with its magnificent church at its centre and good local services. Well placed, south of Gloucester and Cheltenham and west of Cirencester, the village is in an official area of natural beauty within the fold of the Cotswold hills, with spectacular views in all directions. The Painswick, the village's highly rated hotel restaurant, is a stone's throw away and there are also two popular village pubs, both serving food. The village is within reach of a number of good schools in the public and private sectors and has its own thriving primary school. London is circa two hours by road or about 95 minutes by rail from nearby Stroud Station and there is good access to the M5 motorway - Junction 11a - Cheltenham.
