DESCRIPTION
Steepways is a detached Cotswold stone cottage on Brimscombe Hill with incredible westerly views towards Swells Hill. The property requires updating and offers a unique opportunity to create a wonderful, light filled home. Currently the accommodation on the ground floor consists of a large entrance porch leading into the hallway, a separate kitchen, an open plan sitting room/dining room and conservatory with patio doors out to the garden. This space has the potential to be opened up and/or extended which could provide a wonderful open-plan kitchen/sitting/dining room taking full advantage of the wonderful views. On the first floor are 2 double bedrooms and a family shower room, with 2 further bedrooms on the 2nd floor. Outside there is a useful store room with electricity supply and terraced hillside patio gardens on three sides. In addition there is a good sized off-street parking bay for several cars located directly off Brimscombe Hill.
LOCATION
Steepways stand two thirds of the way down Brimscombe Hill and is very convenient for accessing Stroud. It faces east-west with the sun on the front in the morning and the rear in the afternoon. Brimscombe is one of a number of adjacent villages which straggle along both flanks of the Chalford Valley. Stroud is a vibrant market town very much with its own identity and a good range of independent retailers, an award winning Farmers' Market as well as four major supermarkets. From its main line train station there are regular services into London Paddington or Cheltenham and Gloucester. Brimscombe, which has a village shop/post office, is set just below the open space of Minchinhampton Common which also hosts one of Minchinhampton's three challenging golf courses. The village has a popular primary school, and there are excellent secondary schools in the vicinity including boys and girls grammar schools in Stroud.
DIRECTIONS
From our Minchinhampton office, head along West End and proceed along Windmill Road in the direction of Minchinhampton Common. Turn right on Cirencester Road and then immediately right again onto Brimscombe Hill. Steepways can then be found approximately three quarters of a mile down on your left hand side.
