DESCRIPTION
Little Mundays is a fascinating detached Grade II Listed Cotswold stone property originally thought to have been two separate weavers cottages and later joined together to form one house. Entered via a gate with a magical wisteria clad pathway leading to the historic front door, the property is full of charm, character and original features. Stone mullions, flag stone floors, leaded light windows and exposed stone abound around every turn, with thick curved walls, steeped in 100s of years of history. On the ground floor there is large entrance hall with a Cotswold stone floor, a characterful sitting/dining room with 2 fireplaces and access to a vaulted cellar, fully fitted kitchen/breakfast room and a useful utility cupboard. There are two upstairs sections of the property one with 2 bedrooms and a family bathroom plus shower and the other with a double bedroom and en-suite bathroom. To the outside of the property there is a lovely level garden full of mature trees and shrubs, summer house and wonderful views over the Painswick Valley.
DIRECTIONS
The property is most easily located by leaving our office in Painswick on the A46 in the direction of Cheltenham and turning first right after the first set of traffic lights into Bisley Street. At the bottom of Bisley Street, follow the road around to the left into Vicarage Street and continue down until you see Yew Tree house on your right hand side. Shorty after that the pedestrian access to Little Mundays can be found on the right opposite Fairfax House.
LOCATION
The village of Painswick, affectionately known as “The Queen of the Cotswolds”, is one of the most popular villages in Gloucestershire, best known for its church spire and ninety-nine Yew trees. The village is an absolute delight with its quaint narrow streets and wealth of traditional Cotswold limestone houses and cottages. Local amenities include village shop, churches, primary school, hotel, restaurants, two public houses, a variety of interesting shops, medical centre, golf course and other recreational facilities.
There are lovely country walks on Painswick Beacon plus a choice of many other walks. The nearby town of Stroud provides extensive shopping and educational facilities and a mainline station brings London within 90 minutes travelling time. Gloucester, Cheltenham, Bath, Bristol and Swindon are all easily accessible, as are the M4 and M5 motorways.
