DESCRIPTION
Down Cottage is all about the location! Set in the most stunning of rural elevated settings, hidden away, yet close to the sought after village of Slad and the popular market town of Stroud. A charming Cotswold cottage that sits in approximately half an acre of landscaped gardens surrounded by fields and views from every angle. The cottage itself is full of charm and character with plenty of potential to extend if need be. On the ground floor there is an entrance hall, good sized sitting room with inglenook fireplace, kitchen/breakfast/dining room, the well room/sun room complete with feature well, downstairs cloakroom and a home office/music room. On the first floor there is the master bedroom with walk in wardrobe, further bedroom and family bathroom and then upstairs again there is an impressive attic bedroom full of character with further bedroom off. The gardens and the setting are a particular feature of the property full of mature trees and shrubs and flower bed/borders, vegetable patch, pond, detached home office, detached garage and parking.

LOCATION
Down Cottage is set in the most stunning of rural locations and enjoys an exceptional elevated position on Steanbridge Lane in Slad. Arguably one of the more favoured locations within the village away from the road that passes through it and leading down into the valley where it ultimately terminates. The Slad Valley, famous the world over due to its association with the poet and writer, Laurie Lee, is still one of the most beautiful and picturesque of all the valleys converging on Stroud, a town with strong artistic connections. Proud to be different and recently voted to be one of the best places to live in England, Stroud is a 'living' town, quirky and bohemian, noted especially for its Saturday Farmers Market. There is also a very practical side to Stroud, four major supermarkets including a large Waitrose, its excellent grammar schools, multiplex cinema and mainline train station - London Paddington from 90 minutes. Slad itself is a friendly and inclusive community with much going on, largely centred around its famous pub, The Woolpack, serving excellent food. There are lovely walks in the vicinity and it is also great cycling country, plus there are also a number of excellent golf courses in the vicinity.

DIRECTIONS
Approximately 2 miles north of the popular Cotswold market town of Stroud, the property is most easily approached along the B4070 to Slad. Shortly after passing the famous Woolpack Inn on your right, in the centre of the village, take the next right into Steanbridge Lane.
Follow this pretty, quiet lane down the hill and then up the other side passing through Down Farm equestrian stables. Shortly after this you will see a turning to the left signposted to Trillgate, take this track bearing around to the right at the junction where Down Cottage can be found right at the end on the left.
