2023 is a special year for the Murrays team as it marks our 30 year anniversary
Founded by Director, Richard Murray, with his parents Clive and Jenny as acting consultants, Murrays opened its first office in Stroud in September 1993. A family ethos has been at the heart of the business ever since, with Richard’s brother, James, joining the family firm as Co-director, in 2006.
Within three years of opening, the business had expanded to such an extent that two further offices were opened, the Minchinhampton office opening in 1995 and the Painswick office opening a year later in 1996, together with our partnering with the Mayfair Office, London. In 2011, we also established a Lettings Department.
30 years on and the rest, as they say, is history. Whilst the business has grown in numbers and strength, with today’s team comprising 14 property experts, including negotiators, admin and marketing staff, our ethos remains the same today as it did 30 years ago: to deliver an exceptional level of service, always respectful of the uniqueness of each home and each individual’s circumstances.
To mark this momentous occasion we celebrated with friends, family, colleagues, search agents and vendors, many of whom we have sold numerous properties for over the years and often for several generations of the same family. We raised a glass or two and shared heartfelt thanks for everyone who has been a part of our journey and helped make Murrays what we are today. The party was hosted locally at the award winning Woodchester Valley Vineyard, owned and run by Richard and James Murrays’ sister, Fi Shiner. An all-round family affair!
As we embark on the fourth decade of Murrays, we extend the biggest and most heartfelt thank you to everyone who has, or is still, travelling the sales journey with us. We continue to be blown away by the support and kindness of the community, the magnificent homes we are so privileged to sell and for each and every one of you, for opening the doors to your stunning Cotswold homes and helping make Murrays what it is today.
